Guide updated
Implemented from official documentation. Live-account verification is pending, including signed-in key creation, team Billing permissions and comparison with the provider dashboard. Automated tests do not establish real-account success.
- Required credentials
- WaveSpeedAI API Key
- Monitoring currency
- USD · US dollars
- What is monitored
- Account Credits · USD
- The fixed GET https://api.wavespeed.ai/api/v3/balance endpoint returns data.balance in USD. Bearer authentication selects the key's personal or team organization (scope=organization). Its funds are shared across keys and services, not allocated to a Quota Monitor project.
Check WaveSpeedAI balance without sharing a key
- Sign in at wavespeed.ai with the identity used for your paid API integration and confirm the organization.
- Read the balance on the dashboard and open Billing at wavespeed.ai/top-up to review the same account. This connector uses USD directly, not a model-specific token allowance.
- If funds need attention, let an authorized person complete payment there. Compare again after posting; no key or Cookie needs to be sent to Quota Monitor.
Connect WaveSpeedAI to Quota Monitor
Identify the account that pays for WaveSpeedAI
Open the official Billing page below. If prompted, use the Google or GitHub identity you normally use for WaveSpeedAI, then return to Billing. Confirm the personal or team organization paying for your application's calls.
Checkpoint: you can recognize the funded organization and its displayed balance. Do not compare another host's FLUX, Runway or other model credits. No purchase or generation is required to connect monitoring.
Choose a suitable dedicated credential
Open API Keys. For a team, ask your existing administrator to confirm your current role before creating a key. Prefer an existing Billing member to create their own monitoring key; do not promote the monitoring user to Owner or Admin.
Personal accounts have no team-role restriction, and Developer/Owner/Admin keys can run models. If you cannot accept this access, use the manual balance check below. Billing still reads additional financial information, not just one number; there is no policy JSON to paste for this role-based setup.
Generate and save the full key
On API Keys, enter a recognizable name such as Quota Monitor balance and click Generate. Keep it separate from your application's production key. Confirm that you are still in the intended organization.
Copy the complete secret into your password manager before closing the result. If lost, generate a replacement. Checkpoint: you saved the actual secret, not its name, masked preview or a Bearer header. Never place it in chat, screenshots or URLs.
Add WaveSpeedAI inside your business project
In Quota Monitor, open the target project, add a provider connection, choose a new connection and select WaveSpeedAI (USD). Give the connection a name identifying the upstream organization.
Paste only the complete key into the masked API Key field, then save. No account ID, project ID, API URL or second credential is needed. For MCP setup, enter the secret through the secure Web setup link, never in the agent conversation.
Confirm the first successful sync
Wait for the initial query or refresh after the cooldown ends. Checkpoint: a successful query time and a USD amount replace the waiting state. Lists reveal only the key's final four characters; the backend encrypts the credential.
A failed query is not zero money. Check the last successful time and redacted error code. If there has never been a successful read, the amount remains unknown; do not infer a funded or empty account from that state.
Reconcile the amount with the same organization
Return to the official dashboard/Billing for the same personal or team organization and compare its balance. For example, data.balance of 50.25 appears as $50.25 here. No Credit-to-dollar conversion is applied.
Compare close in time while other calls may be spending funds. Multiple connections with keys from the same organization read shared money, not independent project budgets. Reconcile each organization separately before relying on alerts.
Open the official platform when funds are low
Use Open provider on the card to reach Billing. Confirm the signed-in organization before making a purchase. Select the payment method and amount on WaveSpeedAI and complete payment there; Quota Monitor never handles the transaction.
After the provider shows the payment as credited, refresh this connection and compare again. Check posting and account identity first if the amount differs; repeated refreshes cannot speed up settlement. Auto-recharge remains a provider-side setting.
Rotate or revoke the monitoring key
Create a replacement dedicated key in the same organization, update the connection through the secure setup page and confirm a successful sync before deleting the old key. Suspected leaks require immediate revocation at WaveSpeedAI.
Disabling or unlinking a Quota Monitor connection does not revoke the upstream key. Team keys inherit their creator's current role: changing that role, deactivating the member or removing them may stop monitoring. Recheck permissions after team changes.
What Quota Monitor reads from WaveSpeedAI
- Read the official balance directly: 50.25 means $50.25, not 50.25 model Credits or cents. Do not subtract usage again or sum duplicate organization wallets.
- The endpoint supplies no cash/promotion split or separate credit-line allowance. We do not invent those amounts or treat another provider's underlying model balance as WaveSpeedAI funds.
- Zero and negative numeric results are preserved. Missing, malformed or failed results retain the last successful value and time, not a fabricated zero. Query time is not guaranteed settlement time; a balance does not establish model availability.
- Only the fixed balance read is used. No generation, payment, top-up, account-setting change, custom endpoint or separate organization/project filter is supported.
- The dashboard shows the latest successful snapshot. Manual refresh queries the provider again but cannot eliminate upstream billing delays. An old balance is not a new result after a failed query.
WaveSpeedAI FAQ and troubleshooting
- Why do I get 401 or invalid credentials?
- Verify the WaveSpeedAI provider selection and full, active key. Remove Bearer, header names, spaces and line breaks. A key name, browser Cookie or another provider's model key is not valid. Replace the key only through the secure form.
- Does 403 require an Owner or Admin key?
- Not for this balance read. A current team Billing member can create a suitable key. Have the existing administrator verify the creator is active in the correct organization and still has a supported role. Do not broaden access just to clear an error; role changes affect existing keys.
- Does naming a key for billing make it read-only?
- No. Team permission follows the creator's role, not the key name. Billing keys cannot run models but can read other financial data; personal keys have no equivalent team-role restriction. Use manual checking when your credential policy cannot be met.
- Why do two projects show the same amount?
- Their keys may belong to the same personal/team organization. Quota Monitor projects organize your business, not WaveSpeedAI wallets. Do not add these repeated balances or deduct usage a second time.
- What about zero, negative balance or a monthly credit line?
- We preserve the numeric balance returned by the official endpoint, including zero and negatives. No separate credit-line, cash or promotional amounts are supplied by this response, so none are reconstructed. Do not assume that zero always stops models or that positive funds guarantee access.
- What if I get 429, an invalid response or a missing top-up?
- Wait for the refresh cooldown after rate limits. Confirm any purchase posted to the correct organization, then retry. An HTTP 200 with an error code or missing data.balance does not count as a successful sync. Old results retain their original time. Share only redacted error codes and timestamps, not keys or raw responses.
